Audi Q5 TFSI & Q5 TDI quattro: Advanced efficiency and elevated luxury
The new Audi Q5 range offers customers a choice of two sophisticated engines at launch: a 150kW TFSI front-wheel-drive variant and a 150kW TDI featuring Audi’s acclaimed quattro all- wheel-drive system. Both engines incorporate Audi’s latest MHEV plus electrified technology including advanced integrated powertrain generator that generates additional drive torque of up to 230 Nm and up to 18 kW of power. The result is improved efficiency, performance and driving refinement, while allowing partial electric manoeuvring without plug-in charging. Further, significant enhancements have been made to the dynamics of the Q5 with the fitment of progressive steering and advanced frequency selective dampers as standard across the range.
The exterior design of the Q5 TFSI and TDI quattro showcases Audi’s new bold and progressive aesthetic. The third generation of the Q5 SUV has become sportier and has revised proportions, featuring a taut, high shoulder line for a powerful silhouette connecting the front and rear lights. The front end of the vehicle could be described as appearing self-confident, with the defining elements now positioned higher on the vehicle than the predecessor. While flaunting a new look, the Q5 is still familiar, with the sporty, wide Singleframe sitting high and flanked by large vertical air curtains.

Standard S line exterior styling presents a dynamic, athletic stance complemented by standard 19-inch alloy wheels in a sophisticated graphite grey, gloss turned finish. Matrix LED headlights with selectable digital signatures and new rear projection lighting technology project unique graphics onto the rear window, adding distinctiveness and enhanced safety visibility. High-gloss aluminium trims complete the Q5’s refined, sporty appearance.
The new interior of the Q5 is designed to be human-centric and consistently geared towards the needs of its users. Similar to that of the all- new Q6, A5, and S5 already launched this year, the central component of the model’s new interior is the Digital Stage, which is set up in front of the driver and front passenger with clearly aligned displays integrated into the curved, Singleframe-grille shaped screen. The slim, free- standing Audi MMI panoramic display features OLED technology and houses the 11.9-inch Audi virtual cockpit and the 14.5-inch MMI touch display.
Premium leather-appointed upholstery, heated front seats with four-way adjustable headrests and electric adjustment, and a four-spoke multifunction steering wheel provide refined comfort and convenience. Colour ambient lighting, illuminated front door sill trims, matt brushed aluminium inlays and soft-wrap interior detailing create a sophisticated, spacious environment for occupants. Wireless smartphone integration, a digital key, Audi phone box light with cooling functionality, and Audi connect plus services elevate digital connectivity and convenience.
Safety and driver assistance technology are comprehensive, with Active Front Assist featuring Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), adaptive cruise control, Audi Side Assist, park assist plus, and a 360-degree camera system included as standard. With 9 airbags, rear occupant detection, speed sign recognition, and a host of other driver assistance systems, the new Q5 delivers benchmark safety for families and individuals alike.
The new range also introduces the Q5 TDI quattro sport, which features a number of differentiating equipment from the Q5 TDI quattro, including 20-inch alloy wheels in a 5-twin-Y- spoke design, and a panoramic sunroof included as standard. Additionally, the interior boasts Sport front seats with integrated headrests, and S line interior; with leather appointed upholstery featuring contrasting stitching and S embossing in the front seats, a flat top and bottom steering wheel, black headlining, and matt brushed aluminium inlays with linear embossing in anthracite. This highly specified alternative offers attractive packaging for what was already a well-equipped vehicle for Australian customers.

At the top of the range, the high-performance SQ5 is powered by a potent 270 kW V6 TFSI engine, achieving a blistering zero to 100km/h sprint in only 4.5 seconds, establishing this as the fastest SQ5 to date. Audi’s quattro all-wheel-drive systems and sports-tuned frequency-selective dampers deliver enhanced handling precision, stability, and ride comfort across varying road conditions. Standard progressive steering enhances agility on both the Q5 and SQ5, providing greater dynamic response at lower speeds and increased stability at higher speeds.
Externally, the SQ5 differentiates itself with exclusive 21-inch Audi Sport alloy wheels in a multi- spoke black metallic and gloss S design, metallic paint, acoustic front glazing for improved cabin quietness, aluminium-look trims, and distinctive S exterior styling with prominent visible tailpipe trims. The SQ5 interior elevates luxury with ventilated, heated, and massaging front seats finished in premium diamond-stitched leather, as well as soft wrap Dinamica upholstery elements throughout the cabin to elevate the cabin’s atmosphere. The cabin also features advanced colour ambient lighting pro, complete with a dynamic interaction light strip at the base of the windscreen to convey vehicle status alerts elegantly.
Advanced technology is prominent throughout the SQ5 interior. A superior Bang & Olufsen 3D Premium Sound System with 16 speakers, head-up display, and USB interfaces offering rapid charging capability underscore the SQ5’s luxurious technological environment.
Across the Q5 and SQ5 range, customers have a choice of ten sophisticated exterior colours, including three striking new additions: Tambora Grey, Grenadine Red, and Sakhir Gold, expanding personalisation opportunities.
