Hyundai expands Kona range to three trim grades

AS IT CONTINUES TO EXPAND its range, Hyundai is now offering the 2026 Kona in a choice of three trim grades.

For 2026, Kona introduces a new Elite variant, to give customers an attractive midpoint into the Kona family.

By offering greater choice, the updated 2026 Kona range hopes it can provide the right car for every customer.

Two powertrains are now available across the range – a 2.0 MPi Petrol and a 1.6 GDi Hybrid. The 1.6 T-GDi AWD powertrain has been discontinued.

In further range revisions, the top-spec 2026 Kona Premium now features a standard wide glass sunroof with power sunshade, and a dynamic N Line option pack is offered for Kona Elite and Premium grades.

The entry level Kona introduces a new 17-inch alloy wheel design – in place of the previous 18-inch wheels – and no longer offers an N Line option pack.

The 2026 Kona Elite delivers a well-balanced median between Kona and Kona Premium, bringing enhanced style and comfort features.

2026 Kona Elite (key specifications above Kona entry grade):

  • Leather appointed interior
  • Heated, power-adjusted front seats
  • Shift By Wire (SBW) w/paddle shifters (2.0 MPi)
  • 18-inch alloy wheels
  • Electrochromic Mirror
  • Rain sensing wipers
  • Privacy rear glass

“We are delighted to introduce the updated and improved 2026 Kona range, with the new Elite model offering a highly appealing mid-level option,” said Hyundai Motor Company Australia Chief Executive Officer, Don Romano.

“Kona is the market-leading small SUV and we are confident the 2026 range will deliver even better value and choice to Australian buyers.”
