Hyundai adds hybrid to Santa Fe range

SANTA FE HYBRID HAS JOINED THE Australian Hyundai line up, bringing a refined, potent and economical third powertrain choice to the range.

The turbo petrol/electric Santa Fe is the first hybrid Hyundai SUV to be offered in Australia, and builds on the appeal of a family-favourite model that is already among the most desirable on the market.

The hybrid is available in just two specs (this is the Highlander)

Available in Santa Fe Elite and Highlander, the Hybrid powertrain combines turbo performance and all-wheel-drive capability with hybrid efficiency and smoothness.

Santa Fe Hybrid uses just 6.0L/100km on the official combined cycle and 6.2L/100km on the urban cycle, which makes it 17 percent more economical than the efficient turbo-diesel when driving in the city and suburbs, where the average family SUV will spend most time.

Adding further appeal to Santa Fe is a newly available 6-seater option for Hybrid Highlander variants, which brings a pair of second-row captain’s seats and greater interior flexibility to suit a range of lifestyles.

Six or seven seat configurations widen appeal

The choice of six or seven seat configurations in Santa Fe is yet another element that makes the model a uniquely practical family vehicle.

New, efficiency-enhancing aero type machine faced 19-inch alloy wheels complete Elite and Highlander Hybrid variants, setting them apart with a unique look.

Santa Fe continues to deliver an advanced user experience with the availability of dual large, high-definition infotainment and instrument cluster displays.

A clear and intuitive 10.25-inch infotainment and navigation unit featuring DAB radio is standard in Elite variants and above, and is joined by a 12.3-inch supervision instrument cluster.

In Santa Fe, there are two 12V power outlets and up to four USB charging Ports, including a port for third-row occupants.

Headlining a story of exceptional occupant protection is an extensive standard suite of SmartSense advanced active safety and driver assistance technologies, with features including a front centre airbag and Multi-Collision Braking system.

Powertrain-specific suspension tunes for Santa Fe Hybrid, petrol and turbo-diesel, which were developed in Namyang and signed off locally by the HMCA tuning team, underpin a comfortable and capable family SUV that feels at home on Australia’s uniquely challenging city and country roads.

A standard full-size spare wheel and tyre gives customers further confidence to travel anywhere in Santa Fe.

“The addition of Santa Fe Hybrid, including a new six-seater option, brings renewed appeal in this latest evolution of our ever-popular large SUV,” Hyundai Motor Company Australia Chief Executive Officer, Ted Lee said.

“A favourite of Australian families, Santa Fe continues to deliver an alluring combination of style, space, luxury and technology, now with the performance and efficiency benefits of a hybrid powertrain,” he said.
