VW continues to source stock

THERE’S NOTHING MORE FRUSTRATING for both customers and dealers than stock shortages, and recently we’ve had more than our fair share, with some delivery times being quotes as far out as 18 to 24 months.

Volkswagen is continuing to secure supply of its core models with more than 1400 examples of the T-Cross 85TSI Style on their way to Australia – and with the bonus of a more affordable price.

Until June 30, Volkswagen takes $1000 off the previous special offer for the T-Cross 85TSI Style. Now, at now $35,990 drive-away, Volkswagen’s highest-specified small SUV is priced comparably to rival brands mid-range models and with shorter wait times than previously.

Highlights for the Volkswagen T-Cross 85TSI Style include 17-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, automatic on/off headlights and wipers, front fog lights, roof rails, Park Assist semi-autonomous parking function with front and rear parking sensors, remote central locking with keyless access, dual-zone automatic climate control and comfort sport cloth seats.

An 8.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, DAB+ digital radio, wireless smartphone charging and 4x USB ports are also included, as are comprehensive safety technology – IQ.DRIVE with adaptive cruise control with Stop & Go function, Lane Assist, Front Assist with cyclist and pedestrian detection plus low-speed front/rear autonomous braking.

Volkswagen’s Head of Product Passenger Vehicles Michelle Rowney said the new price, comprehensive equipment list and ready availability made T-Cross 85TSI Style a logical choice.

“Consider the standard kit and the $35,990 drive-away price-tag; it’s clear that very little in the small SUV segment can match this offer,” Ms Rowney said. “Add to that the immediate response and efficiency of the turbo petrol engine and the packaging smarts of the T-Cross.”

The Volkswagen T-Cross measures a parking-friendly 4.1 metres in length, yet manages between 385 litres and 455 litres of boot space depending on the fore/aft position of the rear seat – or 1,281 litres with the rear backrest folded.

The T-Cross 85TSI weighs just 1289kg, and teamed with 85kW of power and 200Nm of torque from the 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbocharged engine and a 7-speed Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG), manages among the best fuel efficiency in its segment – just 5.4 litres per 100 kilometres on the combined test cycle.

The T-Cross 85TSI Life is also from $33,490 drive-away until June 30, 2023.

This significant additional stock will round out the current T-Cross range in preparation for the arrival of the updated T-Cross range in 2024.
